May is a time of year associated with other worlds. It was on May Eve that the Tuatha De Danaan, the people of the goddess Danu and the forebearers of the fairies, arrive in Ireland. The fairy folk are at their most active during this month. Watch for fairy rings of toadstools or flowers. Leave an offering in the woods to make friends with them. May is also a good time to leave offerings at wells and springs, as the healing powers of water from sacred wells are amplified now. Take time now to get out-of-doors and renew your connection with Mother Earth after the long dark winter. Regeneration of body and spirit is nurtured by warmer days and the resurgence of plant life. Get back into the garden (or start one) and let the Goddess reveal her cycles and wonder to you.
